Maternal Health Care in southern Kalmar County offers a part-time temporary position as a midwife, based at the family center in Mönsterås. Your role as a midwife is to contribute to good sexual and reproductive health and minimize risks and illness for women and children during pregnancy, childbirth, and infancy through health promotion, prevention, and risk identification. Maternal Health Care services include pregnancy monitoring, contraceptive counseling, gynecological cell screening, and youth activities. The clinic in Mönsterås works together with the clinic in Högsby as what we call twin clinics to serve our patients. At these clinics, you will conduct youth clinic work, meeting young people and young adults aged 13-23 years. You provide advice and support on topics including sexuality, contraception, and STI testing. We serve as mentors to midwifery and medical students. In your position as a midwife with us, you work independently in continuous professional development and through personal encounters with many different people. The rewarding aspect of our work is that you get to follow expectant parents over a longer period, supporting them through pregnancy and into parenthood. You will be part of the continuous development work that we consider integral to our daily operations. We have ongoing training days, maternal health days, and various process groups that you will participate in to develop and improve our work. This is a part-time temporary position with daytime hours, Monday-Friday. Start date in fall 2026 or earlier by agreement. Selection and interviews are ongoing, and the position may be filled before the final application deadline. We are looking for We are seeking someone with a desire to work in maternal health care! You are a licensed midwife with prescribing rights. We view previous experience in maternal health care as an advantage, as well as experience in other departments at a women's clinic. As a midwife, you are confident in your profession and accustomed to making and standing by your own decisions. You discuss and solve issues together with colleagues. You need to be independent in your work while also being able to collaborate with multiple professional categories at the family center, such as nursing assistants, social workers, and educators. Friendly and empathetic patient interactions are important qualities we value. You are flexible in your approach and view change and development work as self-evident. We consider it a merit if you have training in sexology and motivational interviewing, as well as experience with the Cosmic and Obstetrix journal systems. It is an advantage if you speak languages other than Swedish, as we meet people of different nationalities. Since you will work at both clinics, we require a valid driver's license.
