JOB RESPONSIBILITIES Kiruna City Library is in an exciting phase due to the city transformation, the designation as Europe's Capital of Culture 2029, and new premises in the Aurora cultural center located centrally in the new city center. If you want to be part of creating Kiruna's future library operations, this is the position for you! The city library has extensive activities aimed at children and young people during their leisure time. You will be part of a team consisting of a school librarian, school library administrator, and youth/school librarian. Your responsibilities will include managing children's activities with a special focus on collection development and reading promotion initiatives during leisure time. Scheduled desk service at the information desk is included, where you will serve and meet visitors of all ages. Evening and weekend shifts are included according to schedule. QUALIFICATIONS As an applicant, you have a degree in library and information science. Previous experience with children's and youth activities is a merit. You need to have good knowledge of literature, especially children's and young adult literature, and be comfortable with digital tools. You also need to be able to speak in front of larger and smaller groups and have good proficiency in the Swedish language, both spoken and written. As a person, you are creative, organized, and have good collaboration skills. You are proactive and able to work independently. To thrive in the role, you should enjoy working with children and young people and be able to independently plan and carry out activities for and with your target audience. You can organize your work, reflect, and follow up on activities so that the library's users receive even better service. You like new experiences and challenges. Driver's license B is a requirement.
