Valkas Municipality Guardianship Board (Reg. No. 40900027816) invites applications for the position of Chair of the Guardianship Board (profession code 1344 05) through a competitive process. Work location: Semināra iela 9, Valka, Valkas Municipality.
Main Job Responsibilities:
Ensure the operation of the Guardianship Board in accordance with the requirements of the laws of the Republic of Latvia and the Board's regulations;
Represent the Guardianship Board before administrative and judicial authorities, as well as in relations with natural and legal persons;
Consider submissions, complaints, and suggestions from residents and ensure responses are prepared;
Provide consultations to residents on matters within the Board's competence;
Prepare and conduct Guardianship Board meetings;
Participate in inspections of the living conditions of minors and in preparing and resolving related issues;
Perform other duties provided for in the Cabinet of Ministers regulations, municipal council decisions, and the Board's regulations.
Requirements for Applicants:
Citizen or non-citizen of the Republic of Latvia;
Has reached the age of 30;
Professional Master's degree in law or professional Master's degree in law and fifth-level professional qualification (lawyer) or other qualifications in law corresponding to level 7 of the European Qualifications Framework as defined in Latvia's education classification;
At least five years of work experience in the thematic field of the obtained education or in performing the duties of Chair of the Guardianship Board, Vice-Chair of the Guardianship Board, or Member of the Guardianship Board;
State language proficiency at the highest level;
Impeccable reputation;
Not subject to any of the restrictions specified in Article 11 of the Guardianship Board Law to hold this position;
Desirable: completion of the training program for Chair, Vice-Chair, and Members of the Guardianship Board as specified in Cabinet of Ministers regulations;
High sense of responsibility, excellent organizational skills, excellent computer skills;
Good communication, emotional resilience, and collaboration skills;
Category B driver's license.
