Valkas novads Guardianship Court (reg. No. 40900027816) invites applications for the position of Guardianship Court Chairman (occupation code 1344 05) through a competitive selection process. Work location: Semināra iela 9, Valka, Valkas novads.
Key Responsibilities:
ensure the guardianship court operates in accordance with the legal requirements of the Republic of Latvia and the court's regulations;
represent the guardianship court before administrative and judicial authorities, as well as in relations with natural and legal persons;
review citizen submissions, complaints, and suggestions and ensure responses are prepared;
provide consultation to citizens on matters within the court's competence;
prepare and conduct guardianship court sessions;
participate in inspecting the living conditions of minors, preparing and resolving related matters;
perform other duties as provided in Cabinet of Ministers regulations, municipal council decisions, and the court's regulations.
Requirements for Candidates:
Citizen or non-citizen of the Republic of Latvia;
at least 30 years of age;
a professional Master's degree in law or a professional Master's degree in law and a Level 5 professional qualification (lawyer) or other qualifications in law corresponding to Level 7 of the European Qualifications Framework as defined in Latvia's education classification;
at least five years of work experience in the relevant field of acquired education or in performing the duties of a guardianship court chairman, vice-chairman, or member;
Native level proficiency in the state language;
irreproachable reputation;
no restrictions on the candidate as set out in Article 11 of the Guardianship Courts Law to hold the office;
desirable: completion of the training program for guardianship court chairman, vice-chairman, and members as specified in Cabinet of Ministers regulations;
high sense of responsibility, excellent organizational skills, and strong computer skills;
good communication, emotional resilience, and collaboration skills;
Category B driving license.
