Jelgavas novada Court of Guardianship is re-announcing a competition for the position of COURT OF GUARDIANSHIP MEMBER Main Job Duties: advocate for the interests of a child or person under guardianship; prepare cases held in the Court of Guardianship's records for consideration at Court sessions; prepare claim applications and applications under special procedure and participate in court proceedings; receive visitors and provide consultations; cooperate with other Courts of Guardianship, long-term social care and social rehabilitation institutions, healthcare and educational institutions, social services, and police authorities; review submissions and complaints, including submissions and complaints regarding the conduct of parents, guardians, custodians, and foster families; perform certifications and assist in the settlement and protection of inheritance matters; inspect living conditions and conduct family risk assessments; perform other job duties in accordance with regulatory requirements. Requirements for Candidates: compliance with the requirements set out in Part 2 of Section 10 of the Court of Guardianship Law, including: the candidate is not subject to the restrictions specified in the Court of Guardianship Law for holding the position of Court of Guardianship Member; is a citizen or non-citizen of the Republic of Latvia; has reached the age of 30; has obtained at least an academic bachelor's degree or professional bachelor's degree and a Level 5 professional qualification or another qualification corresponding to Level 6 of the European Qualifications Framework as defined in Latvia's Education Classification in pedagogy, psychology, medicine, social work, or legal science, education management, or public administration, with not less than three years of work experience in the relevant field of education or in performing the duties of Court of Guardianship Chair, Vice-Chair, or Member; speaks the state language at the highest level; has an impeccable reputation; work experience in a Court of Guardianship will be considered an advantage; completion of training specified in Part 4 of Section 10 of the Court of Guardianship Law will be considered an advantage; good skills in working with MS Office standard software; good communication, cooperation, and interpersonal skills; desired B category driver's license.
