Saldus Municipality Guardianship Court, Reg. No. 90009114646, announces applications for the position of Guardianship Court Member (for an indefinite period).
Requirements for candidates:
Citizen or non-citizen of the Republic of Latvia;
Reached the age of 30;
At least an academic bachelor's degree or professional bachelor's degree and level 5 professional qualification, or other qualification corresponding to level 6 of the European Qualifications Framework as defined in Latvia's education classification in pedagogy, psychology, medicine, social work, law, educational management, or public administration;
At least three years of work experience in the thematic field of the acquired education or experience in performing the duties of the chair, vice-chair, or member of a guardianship court;
Untarnished reputation;
Knowledge of the state language at the highest level;
Understanding and knowledge of the performance of job duties and requirements of applicable regulations;
Ability to work under high-intensity conditions and high stress resilience;
Good communication and interpersonal skills;
Good computer skills;
Category B driver's license.
Main job duties:
Protect the interests of a child or person under guardianship;
Prepare cases in the guardianship court's documentation for hearing at court sessions;
Prepare claims and petitions in special proceedings and participate in court proceedings;
Receive visitors and provide consultations;
Cooperate with other guardianship courts, long-term social care and social rehabilitation institutions, healthcare and educational institutions, social services, and police;
Examine submissions and complaints, including submissions and complaints regarding the conduct of parents, guardians, custodians, and foster families;
Make certifications and assist in managing and protecting inheritance matters;
Inspect living conditions and conduct family risk assessments;
Perform other duties in accordance with applicable regulations.

Candidate's curriculum vitae describing life and work experience;
Motivation letter containing – reasons for application, work priorities, describing the skills necessary for guardianship court work and your relevant abilities and benefits to the employer from hiring the respective candidate;
Certification of compliance with the requirements specified in Section 10, paragraph 2 of the Guardianship Court Law, as well as confirmation that there are no obstacles mentioned in Section 11 of the Guardianship Court Law for assuming the position of guardianship court member;
Certification that the candidate is informed that when evaluating the received documents, the competition commission will obtain data from the information systems of the Information Center of the Ministry of Interior regarding the person's convictions and administrative violations;
Copies of documents certifying education (for candidates who obtained education abroad, documents on its recognition in Latvia);
Copy of document certifying state language proficiency (for non-citizens).
