CĒSU NOVADA PAŠVALDĪBA announces an open competition for the position of Member of the Cēsu Ward Court (Bāriņtiesa) on a permanent basis (three positions with work locations in Cēsis, Raiskums, and Nītaure or Augšlīgatne) We invite candidates who meet the following requirements and qualifications: · Citizen or non-citizen of the Republic of Latvia; · with an unblemished reputation; · has reached 30 years of age; · proficiency in the state language at the highest level; · strong communication, emotional resilience, and collaboration skills; · a minimum of an academic bachelor's degree or professional bachelor's degree and a level 5 professional qualification, or another qualification corresponding to level 6 of the European Qualifications Framework as defined in Latvia's education classification, in pedagogy, psychology, medicine, social work, law, education management, or public administration, with a minimum of three years of work experience in the relevant field of acquired education or in the performance of duties as ward court chair, ward court chair deputy, or ward court member; · no restrictions specified in Article 11 of the Ward Court Law apply to the candidate; · Category B driver's license. *Preference will be given to candidates who have completed the training program mentioned in the fourth part of Article 10 of the Ward Court Law. Main duties of a Ward Court Member: · protect the rights and interests of children and persons under guardianship by reviewing submissions, complaints, and conducting fact-finding; · take necessary actions to ensure child care and proper upbringing in a family environment; · participate in case proceedings in court and provide opinions; · cooperate with other ward courts, the State Child Rights Protection Inspectorate, long-term social care and social rehabilitation institutions, healthcare and education facilities, social services, police authorities, the State Probation Service, and court bailiffs; · represent a child or person under guardianship in criminal proceedings where provided for in the Criminal Procedure Law; · maintain and work with databases, systems, and registers necessary for ward court operations; · perform other duties specified in the Ward Court Law. *The competition commission, having evaluated candidates' professional abilities, interests, and personal profile, will offer opportunities for intensive learning and professional development in specific duty performance areas.
