Job Opening for Guardian Court Member
Smiltene Municipality Guardian Court (Reg. No. 40900037886) invites applications for a Guardian Court Member position.
We welcome applications from candidates who meet the following requirements and qualifications:
Citizen or non-citizen of the Republic of Latvia;
with an unblemished reputation;
has reached the age of 30;
Command of the state language at the highest level;
strong communication, emotional resilience, and collaboration skills;
who has acquired at least an academic bachelor's degree or professional bachelor's degree and level 5 professional qualification, or another qualification corresponding to level 6 of the European Qualifications Framework as defined in Latvia's education classification in pedagogy, psychology, medicine, social work, or legal sciences, education management, or public administration, and has at least three years of work experience in the thematic field of the acquired education or in performing the duties of guardian court chair, guardian court chair deputy, or guardian court member;
no restrictions under Article 11 of the Guardian Courts Law apply to the candidate;
Category B driving license;
*Preference given to candidates who have completed the training program referred to in the fourth part of Article 10 of the Guardian Courts Law.
Your main responsibilities:
protect the rights and interests of children and persons in guardianship by reviewing applications, complaints, conducting interviews, and inspecting living conditions;
take necessary actions to ensure the child's upbringing and proper care in a family environment;
participate in case proceedings in court and provide expert opinions;
cooperate with other guardian courts, the State Child Rights Protection Inspectorate, long-term social care and social rehabilitation institutions, healthcare and educational facilities, social services, police, the State Probation Service, and court executors;
maintain and work with databases, systems, and registers necessary for Guardian Court operations;
perform other duties specified in the Guardian Courts Law.
