Job Responsibilities As a pool attendant, you'll have a varied and meaningful role where you're a key person in our guests' experience. You're responsible for pool supervision, ensuring the facility is clean, safe and welcoming, and greeting our guests with professional and excellent service. You may also alternate these tasks with teaching swimming lessons or leading water aerobics and flotation vest classes, or cleaning the swimming hall and changing rooms. Service and good customer care at our reception and throughout our facilities are important parts of your work. The Department of Sports and Community Affairs currently operates several swimming halls with more coming. The facilities in operation range from Lundbybadet and Kärra swimming hall on Hisingen to Angered Arena and Hammarbadet in the northeast to Askims swimming hall and Frölundabadet in the southwest. You will be placed within one of our units. These facilities are places where we work together to inspire physical activity, strengthen public health, increase water safety and swimming proficiency, and create meaningful experiences for all visitors. One of our most important goals is to increase swimming skills and improve public health for Gothenburg residents. Our main target groups are school youth, sports organizations, and people who are distanced from physical activity in various ways in their everyday lives. Working hours are scheduled daytime, evenings and weekends. We're seeking both permanent employees and substitute staff for some of our facilities. Qualifications We're looking for someone who is trained as a swimming instructor, pool lifeguard, or has other training in pools, fitness and health that is deemed equivalent, and who has completed upper secondary education. You have experience working in a swimming hall, with service and customer care, good computer skills and can navigate various IT systems. You need to speak and write Swedish well. It's a merit if you have experience working with children and youth or leading water exercise such as water aerobics/flotation vest classes. It's also a merit if you have experience with facility maintenance and reception work. For this position, we place great importance on your personal qualities and competencies. To thrive in the pool attendant role with us, you take responsibility for your own and the team's shared work tasks. You have good customer care skills both internally and externally, and a genuine interest in other people where you find solutions and want to help provide good service. You have good collaboration skills where you work well with others by listening, showing interest and respect. At the same time, you have the ability to make your own decisions within the scope of your assignment and take initiative without depending on others.
