About the Assignment To the waste management unit in Värmdö municipality, we are looking for you who wants to develop the operation of the municipality's bulky waste collection on both the mainland and in the archipelago. This is a role where you will both collaborate with other functions within the waste management unit and several other parts of the municipality, while at the same time being the municipality's face toward both citizens and contracted entrepreneurs. Job Description The municipality is responsible for providing the opportunity for citizens to dispose of waste fractions such as bulky waste and hazardous waste, and for ensuring that received waste is recycled or treated correctly. Collection is primarily done via the municipality's recycling centers and via a mobile recycling center that stops at a large number of archipelago islands. When visiting one of the municipality's waste facilities, citizens should be offered excellent customer service and guidance on how to sort different types of waste correctly. At the same time, our operations contractors should be given the right conditions to perform their work. More specifically, you will have the following responsibilities for the operations: Direct the operations in the right direction, develop service deliveries and be the main contact for all stakeholders in the operations. In practice, this could involve improving sorting, strengthening customer service or improving the visit experience at the facilities through other changes. Conduct active continuous improvement work, for example by leading training for operations personnel, evaluating investment needs and developing information materials and work procedures. The role involves regularly working out in the operations. Be the main representative for the waste management unit vis-à-vis relevant supervisory authorities. You are also responsible for practically conducting ongoing self-inspections and ensuring that operations are conducted in accordance with applicable legislation and environmental permits. Have significant responsibility in recurring public procurement of operations, including by formulating requirements to help achieve the best possible new agreements for all parties. In the role you work closely with, for example, your manager, operations support and the supervisory authority. Since the waste management unit is a small group of eight people, we also collaborate across each other's areas of responsibility and support each other when needed. You Should Have the Following Experience: At least three years of combined work experience Post-secondary education in a subject area that the employer deems relevant, such as environment, technology, economics or customer-facing service. Alternatively, you should have acquired equivalent knowledge through previous work experience. In addition to this, the following experience and competence will be considered as advantageous: Knowledge of environmental and waste legislation and previous work with operations that were subject to environmental supervision. Previous leadership experience, either in a stated leadership role or for example as project manager, operations manager, project manager or similar. Previous work in the waste industry. Experience working with public procurement in a client role. Other Requirements: You master the Swedish language well enough to communicate about complex issues unimpeded both in writing and verbally You have very good knowledge of Office suite products You hold a B-class driver's license.
