Region Västerbotten works to ensure that good health and sustainable development strengthen each other. We take responsibility for equitable welfare and for ensuring that research and innovation deliver results.
The Region's primary care provides comprehensive primary healthcare services throughout Region Västerbotten and meets patients of all ages, both in urban and rural areas. With 33 health centers and health stations, we are where you are. We offer research and development and leverage medical results to provide high-quality care where the patient is actively involved. We want our employees to be engaged, have influence, and feel proud to work in the Region's primary care.
We are now seeking a department manager at Vilhelmina hospital clinic. Here you have the opportunity to take on a role where you can balance an interesting and developing work life with a rich range of outdoor activities, summer and winter. Vilhelmina is a place that can be described as safe, simple, and with fantastic nature right outside the window. But ultimately, it is the people who live here that make us unique.
The health station is part of the southern Lapland near-care area, which is a model area in the transition to proximity-based care. Through effective collaboration and a focus on citizens, we drive important change initiatives within the region and together with the municipality. Clinical assessment at a distance and digital care meetings are developing rapidly and are an important part of ensuring good, accessible, and nearby care in this area. Therefore, it is no coincidence that we are at the forefront in this field. The health station model, which is an important starting point for proximity-based care, characterizes both the mindset and working methods in the service's daily operations.
Our health stations function as well-equipped mini-hospitals with access to acute care beds, ambulance services, and laboratory facilities. Our telemedicine usage is well developed. Here work occupational therapists, midwives, physiotherapists, social workers, physicians, psychologists, secretaries, nurses, and nursing assistants. We provide acute care as well as regular health center work and have a well-developed collaboration between all professional groups and with municipalities. We collaborate with universities and welcome many students.
Primary care in rural areas is in many ways a challenge and places great demands on collaboration and the ability to leverage the resources and opportunities available. In the southern Lapland near-care area, it is self-evident that we must work together to deliver the absolute best near-care possible. This means that we actively need to review working methods and procedures to meet the inhabitants' needs. In doing so, we are also reviewing the management structure with a focus on strong local leadership.
Vilhelmina, Dorotea, and Åsele health stations are part of the same base unit and are located in southern Lapland, five miles apart. The nearest hospital is Lycksele, where an ambulance helicopter is stationed. These three health stations form a base unit with an operations manager who, together with four department managers, a medical director, and a medically responsible leader, will form a joint management group.
As a manager in Region Västerbotten, you have an important assignment for both employees and inhabitants in the county. To strengthen you in your leadership, we offer support and guidance in line with our evidence-based leadership philosophy. This can range from clear frameworks and smart tools to development at the group and individual level. With good conditions for your leadership, you can motivate, develop, and create security for others.
