Company Description: ä Job Description: We're looking for someone who wants to contribute to making Volvo Trucks Technology & Industrial in Köping the world's leading transmission factory. Our Maintenance Unit is now seeking a Department Manager for the Heat Treatment & Surface Processing area. We operate in a highly dynamic and expanding environment and need someone who is passionate about people management, change initiatives, and wants to help improve our operations. As a department manager for the above area, you'll have considerable freedom in your role to ensure delivery against set targets. Key Responsibilities In your role as department manager for Maintenance at Volvo in Köping, you'll have a special focus on the Heat Treatment and Surface Processing production area. You'll collaborate daily with production managers and participate in the area's joint meeting structure and management work. Organizationally, you belong to Maintenance and report directly to the Maintenance unit manager. You'll lead and allocate work within your area of responsibility to ensure operations meet set targets. The role also includes coaching and developing both your direct reports and production staff based on our common approach, VPS (Volvo Performance System). Safety is a clear priority and we continuously work to develop our methods and competencies. Using competency matrices, employee conversations, and individual development plans, we ensure both employee and organizational long-term development. You will, among other things: Have people responsibility for approximately 25 employees in roles such as maintenance engineers, maintenance technicians, mechanics, and electricians. Have overall responsibility for the department's safety, staffing, budget, and competency development. Ensure a safe and secure work environment and that work is performed in accordance with applicable laws and regulations. Manage staffing planning and recruitment. Ensure that the right competencies are in place to achieve the area's set targets. Lead maintenance operations based on agreed targets, strategies, and standards to achieve desired technical availability. Continuously develop and improve operations in line with Volvo's strategy. Ensure that guidelines, principles, methods, and approaches within the Volvo Performance System (VPS) are applied. Who Are You? We're looking for someone with experience in a leadership position, preferably in a similar area but especially within Maintenance. We'd like you to have a technical education at university level in a relevant field plus a few years of experience in leadership positions. Alternatively, you have several years of experience in similar work. You have very good knowledge of Swedish and English as well as IT skills. We'd like it if you've actively worked with established improvement tools within Lean Production. As a person, you're sociable, driven, attentive, organized, analytical, and naturally service-oriented. You enjoy working closely with your employees and creating team spirit, and together with them improving operations. You have good problem-solving abilities and remain calm even in stressful situations.
