About the Position As department manager, you are responsible for leading, developing, and monitoring operations within the Support for People with Disabilities department. You have overall responsibility for operations, finances, personnel, and work environment, and work to ensure high-quality operations, good legal certainty, and professional conduct. You receive support from the Social Services quality team, finance team, and staffing team in your work. You lead a large and important part of the operations with seven unit managers within personal assistance, one unit manager for short-term operations, the department's two coordinators, and the deaf-blind ombudsman. Through trust-based leadership, you create conditions for development, collaboration, and a sustainable working life. As department manager, you are part of Social Services' management team and play a central role in the administration's strategic development. Together with other managers, you work to develop a modern, sustainable, and innovative social service where quality, collaboration, and development are in focus. The assignment includes, among other things: - Lead, develop, and monitor operations within Support for People with Disabilities - Manage operations, finances, personnel, and work environment - Ensure good quality, legal certainty, and efficient resource use - Drive development and change work based on the new Social Services Act and the municipality's goals - Develop operations with support from digitalization, new technology, and AI - Create good collaboration with internal and external stakeholders - Actively contribute to Social Services' management team and the strategic development of the entire administration Qualifications We are looking for someone who has: - Relevant academic degree, for example in social work or other education that the employer considers equivalent - Several years of experience in management and leadership - Experience managing through other managers - Experience with operational, financial, personnel, and work environment responsibility - Good knowledge of social services legislation and governance - Experience with change and development work It is meritorious if you have experience with LSS (Act Concerning Support and Service for Persons with Certain Functional Impairments), personal assistance, or other activities supporting people with disabilities, as well as experience working in a politically governed organization.
