About the Position As Department Head for Business Development and Communications, you will have a central role in the municipality's development and a unique opportunity to influence how Lysekil grows, develops, and is perceived by residents, businesses, visitors, and other stakeholders. You will lead a department responsible for business development, communications, and customer service—three operational areas that together are crucial for creating an attractive municipality with good service, a strong business climate, and high confidence in municipal operations. In this role, you have overall responsibility for operations, finances, work environment, and staff. You drive the department's development in close collaboration with the municipal director, municipal leadership, political representatives, and other managers, as well as external actors. As part of the municipality's leadership, you are expected to contribute with a strategic overall perspective and be a driving force in the municipality's long-term development work. Your responsibilities include: lead, coach, and develop the department's staff and operations toward established goals take overall responsibility for operations, budget, monitoring, and results initiate and drive strategic development and change processes that contribute to the municipality's long-term development strengthen and develop the municipality's collaboration with business to promote growth, new establishments, and a good business climate develop and coordinate the municipality's internal and external communications represent Lysekil Municipality in networks, projects, and collaboration forums actively contribute to the municipality's management groups and strategic development work provide qualified support to municipal leadership and political representatives within your area of responsibility Qualifications We are seeking a confident, engaging, and development-oriented leader with the ability to build trust, create strong relationships, and turn visions into concrete results. You have a strategic perspective and strong collaboration skills. You thrive in a politically governed organization and have a genuine interest in community development and public service. We are looking for someone with: academic education in communications, social sciences, marketing, or another field that the employer considers equivalent documented experience in management and leadership with responsibility for operations, personnel, and budget experience with strategic development work and change management experience working in one or more of the areas of business development, communications, citizen services, or digital development good understanding of governance, management, and monitoring of operations very strong ability to communicate in Swedish, both verbally and in writing. It is an advantage if you have experience working in a politically governed organization, preferably municipal operations. To succeed in this role, you have a strategic perspective and the ability to see wholes, long-term connections, and opportunities for future development. You are initiative-driven, self-directed, and have a clear results focus while helping those around you grow and contribute. Through trust-based and clear leadership, you create engagement, participation, and good conditions for collaboration. You build strong relationships and collaborate successfully with both internal and external actors. We also see that you are creative and development-oriented, with the ability to identify improvement opportunities and turn ideas into concrete results.
