The Environment and Building Administration works to ensure that our municipal residents, entrepreneurs, and other stakeholders have a good environment, both indoors and outdoors. At the administration, we are a small, cohesive group with an open climate. We work closely together and help each other. We work according to a flexible workplace, which means there is an opportunity to work from home 1-2 days per week as well as flexible working hours. The Environment and Building Administration consists of 3 departments; Environment, Building, and GIS departments. The Environment Department is now seeking a new Environmental Manager. The Environment Department's main task is to work with permits and supervision according to the Environmental Code, food and tobacco legislation. The overarching work areas within the Environmental Code are environmental protection, health protection, and food safety. The Environment Department currently consists of 9 employees. Your Responsibilities The Environment and Building Administration has a strong drive to reach our set goals together and constantly strive for improvement for those we serve. As Environmental Department Manager, it is you, together with the Administration Manager and Controller, who strategically lead the work forward. The administration offers a stimulating assignment with close contact with employees. As Environmental Department Manager, your responsibilities include overseeing the department's operations, finances, and personnel. You are responsible for planning, monitoring, and evaluating activities. You drive improvement work in close collaboration with employees and politicians. You are responsible for, among other things, annually preparing and implementing a supervision and control plan based on the legal requirements within applicable legislation. You are responsible for prioritizing the department's resources and providing support to employees in their case handling and quality-assuring decisions made within the department. You are responsible for both operational and strategic occupational health and safety work in collaboration with employees and labor representatives. A central part of the assignment is communicating with residents, entrepreneurs, and other stakeholders within the municipality's organization about the Environment Department's activities and mission. Developing service-oriented public administration is part of your assignment, with the goal of balancing the requirements of public authority with good service and advice. You, together with the Administration Manager and Controller, form the management group at the administration where close dialogue and collaboration characterize our work and a holistic perspective is always present. You are the primary substitute for the Administration Manager during shorter absences/unavailability. In addition to your management role, you may handle cases within the Environment Department's public authority. Qualifications Requirements to be considered for the position: You have an environmental and occupational health education, environmental science program, or equivalent academic education relevant to the position. You have good knowledge of environmental law and administrative law. You have experience in public administration from similar work in other municipalities or authorities and from politically controlled operations. As a leader, you have several years of experience and have demonstrated the ability to drive an operation efficiently toward improvement and goal achievement. Good ability to express yourself in Swedish both verbally and in writing. B Driver's License IT skills in Microsoft Office. It is meritorious if you have: Experience with the Vision business system Experience with business management in Stratsys Education or experience in the food sector. Personality and aptitude tests will be conducted. We Are Looking for Someone Who: You are a confident leader who coaches your team and is receptive and clear in your communication and leadership. You are confident in public administration and service-oriented public administration is important to you. You are receptive and want to find common solutions with both internal and external parties through an unpretentious focus on the common goal. You have a fondness for improvement work and are driven by getting things done together with others. You thrive with varied tasks in a small organization with close contact with employees and management colleagues. Stepping forward and creating new relationships as well as maintaining them feels natural to you. B Driver's License is a requirement for the position.
