Your Responsibilities
As Department Manager for Distribution Network, your primary mission is to deliver sustainable water services and plan operations based on our business plan. You are a central part of contributing to long-term sustainable and secure societal development in Halmstad and Laholm municipalities. On behalf of the CEO, you are responsible for the company's work to distribute drinking water to every customer, receive, divert, and treat wastewater and stormwater. You are responsible for planning and leading the operation, maintenance, and renewal of our approximately 300 miles of distribution network, emergency troubleshooting, and have a central role in planning and maintaining the company's emergency management activities. As Department Manager, you are part of the management group and thus share responsibility for the company's strategic organization and leadership.
The department is new, which gives you a unique opportunity to help shape the operations based on your experience and perspective. The department currently has approximately 30 employees. Approximately 15 employees report directly to you in your role as Department Manager. The remaining employees work in operations and are led by the Operations Group Manager, who has personnel, operational, and budget responsibility for their department. As Department Manager, you have operational responsibility for the renewal operations, which consists of approximately 15 employees and one planner. You have personnel and work environment responsibility for the employees who report directly to you and are simultaneously responsible for creating good cooperation between the department's different operational areas. You lead and develop operations together with the Group Manager and work supervisors. The role includes resource planning, recruitment, salary setting, competence development, results monitoring, budget work, and driving overarching process and improvement work for the department.
Your Qualifications
Requirements:
University or engineering degree in, for example, civil engineering, environmental engineering, road and water, mechanical engineering, or other education and experience that the employer deems equivalent.
Documented several years of experience in leadership with corresponding personnel, budget, and operational responsibility.
B-class driver's license.
Meritorious:
Experience from the water and wastewater industry, particularly distribution network work.
Experience from similar production operations or as an entrepreneur, experience in planning, management, financial monitoring, and efficiency improvements.
Experience leading other managers.
Experience from management group work and strategic business development.
Experience from the public sector and/or politically governed operations.
Good knowledge of legislation and requirements affecting operations, such as the Environmental Code, the Act on Public Water Services (LAV), and occupational health and safety regulations.
Education in leadership, change management, or cultural development.
You are a confident leader who creates engagement, accountability, and good conditions for your employees to develop. You have the ability to see the bigger picture and understand how different issues affect operations in a broader context. As a person, you are curious, unpretentious, and results-oriented, with a respectful and clear way of collaborating and communicating. You build trusting relationships and have an easy time meeting different stakeholder groups, both internally and externally. You are driven to develop culture, working methods, and operations together with others. The role requires that you can switch between strategic and operational issues and work equally successfully independently as in collaboration with others.

The position is security classified, which means that security vetting interviews with our security coordinator and record checks will be conducted on final candidates. We also conduct reference checks, alcohol and drug testing, and background checks on all candidates before we sign employment contracts.
