About the Position As Department Director for Health, Care and Social Services, you have overall responsibility for the department's operations, results, development, finances, and employees. You lead the department through subordinate managers and are responsible for creating favorable conditions for the department to achieve its goals and deliver on the authority's collective mission. You lead and develop the department's strategic work and are responsible for developing work methods, structures, and culture that strengthen the department's implementation capacity and contribute to the authority's long-term development. A central part of the assignment is to lead operational development and digital development within the department's area of responsibility. The assignment involves extensive collaboration both within the authority and with actors in healthcare, dental care, and social services, as well as with other authorities and organizations. As Department Director, you represent the authority externally within the department's area of responsibility and contribute medical expertise and healthcare perspectives to the authority's strategic work. You report to the Director General and participate in the authority's management group together with other department directors. As a member of the authority's management, you are expected to take clear responsibility for E-hälsomyndigheten as a whole, in addition to responsibility for your own department. About the Department You will lead the Health, Care and Social Services Department, which is responsible for implementing the authority's instruction-based tasks and government assignments to provide and develop services for end-users in healthcare, dental care, and social services. The department also provides health-promoting services, such as Fritidskortet. The department comprises approximately 100 employees and is organized into three sections led by section managers. The sections in turn consist of several units with responsible unit managers. About You To succeed in this role, you are a confident and clear leader who builds trust and provides others with the conditions to take responsibility and develop. You have a strategic approach and the ability to see the big picture while creating implementation capacity and results. You can prioritize and make decisions even in complex situations and under high pressure for change and implementation. You are development and collaboration-oriented and have excellent ability to build trusting relationships, both within the authority and with external actors. You can represent the authority with credibility and integrity in various contexts. You are courageous and action-oriented and take responsibility for both your own department's and the authority's collective development and results. We are looking for someone who has: a medical degree and experience from clinical work several years of current management experience with responsibility for operations, budget, and personnel several years of experience leading other managers in a larger or complex organization current experience leading strategic development and change work experience in digitalization, digital operational development, or development of digital services good knowledge of healthcare organization, governance, and conditions experience in qualified collaboration with external actors and working in contexts with many actors and dependencies. It is advantageous for the position if you have: good knowledge of and experience from politically governed organizations, such as state authorities, regions, or similar operations research education or a doctorate.
