About the position As Department Head for Health, Care and Social Services, you have overall responsibility for your department's operations, results, development, finances, and staff. You lead the department through subordinate managers and are responsible for creating favorable conditions for the department to achieve its goals and deliver on the authority's collective mission. You lead and develop the department's strategic work and are responsible for developing working methods, structures, and culture that strengthen the department's delivery capacity and contribute to the authority's long-term development. A central part of your assignment is to lead operational development and digital development within your department's area of responsibility. The assignment involves extensive collaboration both within the authority and with actors in healthcare, dental care, and social services, as well as with other authorities and organizations. As Department Head, you represent the authority externally within your department's area of responsibility and contribute medical expertise and healthcare perspectives to the authority's strategic work. You report to the Director General and are part of the authority's management group together with other department heads. As a member of authority management, you are expected to take clear responsibility for E-hälsomyndigheten as a whole, in addition to responsibility for your own department. About the department You will lead the Health, Care and Social Services department, which is responsible for implementing the authority's instructional tasks and government assignments to provide and develop services for end users within healthcare, dental care, and social services. The department also provides health promotion services, such as the Leisure Card. The department comprises approximately 100 employees and is organized into three sections led by section heads. The sections in turn consist of several units with responsible unit heads. About you To succeed in this role, you are a confident and clear leader who builds trust and gives others the conditions to take responsibility and develop. You have a strategic approach and the ability to see the bigger picture while creating delivery capacity and results. You can prioritize and make decisions even in complex situations and under high pressure for change and implementation. You are development and collaboration-oriented and have excellent ability to build trusting relationships, both within the authority and with external actors. You can represent the authority with credibility and integrity in various contexts. You are courageous and action-oriented and take responsibility for both your department's and the authority's overall development and results. We are looking for someone with: a medical degree and experience from clinical work multiple years of current management experience with responsibility for operations, budget, and personnel multiple years of experience leading other managers in a larger or complex organization current experience leading strategic development and change work experience with digitalization, digital operational development, or development of digital services good knowledge of healthcare's organization, governance, and conditions experience with qualified collaboration with external actors and working in contexts with many actors and dependencies. It is meritorious for the position if you have: good knowledge of and experience from politically governed organizations, such as a state authority, region, or similar operations research education or a doctoral degree.
