The Neuro-Head-Neck Center (NHHC) consists of approximately 650 employees and is located at Norrlands University Hospital in Umeå. The center provides care related to investigation, treatment, and rehabilitation of diseases and injuries of the nervous system, brain, ears, nose, throat, and jaw surgery. The center is a county clinic where highly specialized care is provided for patients from the entire northern healthcare region, and also conducts research, education, and development. The Hearing Center is part of the Neuro-Head-Neck Center in Västerbotten with facilities in Umeå, Skellefteå, and Lycksele. We are a county clinic and operate from a county perspective where combined resources are used in an optimal way for the entire county. The department has a Cochlear Implant Team, a pediatric team, and a tinnitus team. At the Hearing Center, hearing aid rehabilitation is provided for both children and adults. Furthermore, the Hearing Center provides consultation services to, among others, the Ear Clinic, which includes hearing tests, balance and vertigo investigations. The department also includes technical hearing care where we provide service for hearing aid devices. We are now looking for a department head who wants to develop and drive the Hearing Center forward together with us! JOB DUTIES As a department head with us, you see the whole picture and potential and courageously move us forward. You report directly to the Assistant Operations Manager and work in close collaboration with the Medical Director and other department heads in the management group. The Hearing Center is a county clinic with good cohesion and cooperation between different professions, including you as department head. Since we are a county clinic with employees located in different parts of the county, travel is included in the position. Leaders in Region Västerbotten receive training in economics and personnel matters and are given the opportunity for advanced leadership training as well as mentoring/coaching. The management position in Region Västerbotten is a fixed-term assignment. The assignment is combined with a permanent employment within your area of expertise. QUALIFICATIONS We are looking for someone with previous experience in a management and/or leadership role. You have higher education or equivalent competence acquired through education or experience. You have good computer skills and speak Swedish well, both orally and in writing. It is advantageous if you have previous experience as an employee or manager in healthcare or care and support services. It is also advantageous to have knowledge of hearing care and the Hearing Center's operations. You are an engaged and confident leader with strong initiative. You take responsibility, drive matters forward, and see opportunities for development both in daily work and in the long term. With a clear vision for the future, you can translate ideas into concrete plans that strengthen the department. You are open and communicative, create participation through dialogue, and build trust in the organization. At the same time, you are diplomatic and express yourself in a smooth and responsive manner with a good understanding of how your leadership and communication affect others.
