About the role As the Real Estate Department Manager, you will oversee a department that creates the conditions for public transportation throughout the Västra Götaland region. The department contributes Västtrafik's perspective in the implementation and management of the properties and facilities needed for public transportation to operate. This covers everything from travel centers, waiting areas, and stop infrastructure to break rooms and depots for buses, trains, trams, and ferries. You will lead a team of project managers and facility managers and are responsible for operations, finances, work environment, and staff. The role involves creating favorable conditions for your team to succeed in their mission while together developing the department's working methods, priorities, and long-term direction. The role involves many contact points both within and outside Västtrafik. You collaborate closely with other parts of the organization, transit operators, municipalities, property owners, and other external actors, representing Västtrafik's interests and needs regarding real estate matters, investments, management, and agreements. A large part of the assignment involves being a qualified client and collaboration partner to the Västra Götaland Region's real estate, support, and service administration, which is responsible for implementing and operating a significant portion of the real estate portfolio. Qualifications We are looking for you who have: Multiple years of experience as a manager with personnel, work environment, and operational responsibility. Many years of experience in the real estate field, with good understanding of issues related to management, operations, investments, and implementation. Experience in property management, client operations, or project management within real estate is particularly valuable. Experience with budget, investment, contract, and client matters. Relevant university degree or equivalent experience. Good ability to express yourself in Swedish, both verbally and in writing. It is meritorious if you have experience from public sector activities, the infrastructure sector, or other operations with complex real estate and facility environments. Our real estate operations are in a development phase, and we therefore value experience in leading and driving improvement and development initiatives. Terms and application The position is a permanent full-time employment based in Gothenburg. Start date by agreement. The position may involve travel to our various offices in the Västra Götaland region. Depending on the assignment, the position may also be placed in a security classification. Västtrafik is covered by collective agreements according to the Main Agreement (HÖK 25) with General Terms (AB 25). We apply individual and differentiated salary setting.
