About the Sámi ParliamentThe Sámi Parliament is an elected Sámi parliament and a state agency established in 1993. Its mission is to promote and develop a living Sámi culture, participate in societal planning, and ensure that Sámi needs are taken into account. The agency has offices in Kiruna, Östersund, Jokkmokk, and Tärnaby with approximately 70 employees. About the RoleAs Department Head for Finance and Operations Support, you will have a central role in the Sámi Parliament's leadership and development. You are responsible for the agency's financial management, internal services, IT/IS, and operations development within your area. You will work closely with the Chancellor, the board, and the committees, contributing to stability, quality, and progress in the agency's support processes. The department encompasses finance, administration, internal services, and IT/IS. The role involves budget and personnel responsibility for approximately 15 employees. Key Responsibilities • lead, develop, and monitor the department's work within finance, administration, internal services, and IT/IS • manage budget work, budget monitoring, financial statements, and annual reports • ensure high quality in financial management, accounting, and internal support processes • manage and contribute to procurement and other development initiatives within the department's area of responsibility • provide strategic and operational support to the Chancellor, board, and committees • create favorable conditions for employees through clear leadership, structure, and a development focus Requirements for the RoleYou need to meet the following requirements to be considered for the position: • university degree in finance or economics • extensive experience with budget and financial statement work • experience with budget monitoring, annual reports, and accounting matters • previous management experience • experience from the public sector • strong ability to lead, develop, and inspire employees • excellent communication skills and an analytical and strategic approach Merits It is advantageous if you also have: • experience from a politically governed organization • knowledge of the Sámi language • knowledge of Sámi culture and society • experience with procurement • knowledge of administrative law • understanding of IT/IS development at a strategic level Personal QualitiesWe are looking for someone who is confident in their leadership and has the ability to create direction, clarity, and engagement.
