Habiliteringscentrum is a county-wide base unit with approximately 170 employees with workplaces in Lycksele, Skellefteå and Umeå. The base unit consists of children and youth habilitation, youth and adult habilitation advice and support, as well as vision rehabilitation and hearing rehabilitation. The operation's mission is to promote good health, the best possible functional ability, and conditions for an independent life and active participation in society for children, youth and adults within the target group. We provide habilitation and rehabilitation according to the Health and Medical Care Act (HSL) to children, youth and adults with permanent functional limitations, as well as counseling and other personal support according to the Act on Support and Services for Certain Persons with Disabilities (LSS). We are seeking a department manager for children's, youth and adult habilitation advice and support in Lycksele. Within the operation, curators, psychologists, physiotherapists, occupational therapists, speech-language pathologists, special educators and administrative staff work. DUTIES As a department manager with us, you see the whole picture and the potential, and you take us forward boldly. You act as a role model, work to create shared visions and unlock agency in your operation. You challenge and develop, and you encourage and make your employees visible. You take responsibility for your operation within your authority and represent the employer by leading and developing toward decided goals for the Region's benefit. In the role of department manager, you have operational, personnel and financial responsibility for your operation. You lead, plan and develop the operation based on mandate, goals and needs with focus on work environment, patient safety and quality. We are looking for someone who wants to create a good work environment through participation and close collaboration with employees and colleagues where you build relationships and create trust. You contribute to the whole and are active in development work. The leadership of Habiliteringscentrum consists of seven department managers, support staff and an operations manager. You will have close collaboration with your colleagues in the management group, which creates good conditions for meaningful collaboration and valuable collegial support. An important part of the work is collaboration with other operations within the Region as well as other actors. QUALIFICATIONS We are looking for someone who has a university degree or equivalent competence acquired through education and experience that the employer deems relevant for the assignment. You must have several years of management or leadership experience. It is meritorious if you have knowledge of functional limitations and experience of working with habilitation's target groups. It is also meritorious if you have worked in, or been a manager/leader for, an operation based on working with interdisciplinary teams. We are looking for someone who is confident in your leadership and has a trusting view of others. You are attentive, tolerant and have the ability to understand different perspectives. You communicate in a smooth and diplomatic way and create good relationships by showing consideration, respect and good judgment in collaboration with others. You have good computer skills and master Swedish in both speech and writing. Employment type: Permanent employment. Duration: Permanent, start date: 2027-01-01. Working hours: Daytime. The role of manager within Region Västerbotten is a fixed-term assignment, usually 4 years, which is combined with permanent employment within your area of expertise.
