Our school is one of Umeå Municipality's practice schools, which means we receive teacher students during their work-integrated learning period (VFU) throughout the school year. We are now seeking an engaged, structured, and confident after-school teacher who wants to take on the role of department manager for students in grades 1–3. About the Role As a department manager with us, you will have a key role leading the educational work in your department. You plan, implement, and evaluate instruction based on Lgr22, while creating a learning environment that encourages play, creativity, movement, and exploration. During the school day, you work closely with classroom teachers to provide students with a safe and cohesive school experience. Your Main Responsibilities Bear overall pedagogical responsibility for the department (grades 1–3) and lead daily work in your team Systematically plan, implement, document, and evaluate instruction based on the after-school chapter of Lgr22 Create a safe, inclusive, and stimulating learning environment that promotes students' social development and group cohesion Work closely with classroom teachers during the school day to support students throughout their entire school day Build strong and trusting relationships with students, colleagues, and guardians Plan and lead structured recess activities and participate in the school's safety and student well-being work as needed About You You are a confident and present educator who has an easy time building relationships and creating a productive work environment. As a person, you are flexible, have strong collaboration skills, and are driven by seeing both individual students and the group grow. You like to take initiative, lead your team with clarity, and inspire with your energy and pedagogical thinking. We place great importance on personal suitability. Requirements Trained after-school teacher Holds or has applied for teaching certification Documented experience working in after-school programs Practical experience planning and evaluating instruction based on Lgr22 Strong Swedish language skills, both spoken and written Valid extract from the police criminal record registry Meritorious Extended qualifications in practical-aesthetic subjects such as visual arts, music, or physical education and health Experience in a leadership role, such as department manager or coordinator Education or experience in special education, NPF interaction, or low-intensity behavior management Experience in active safety and equal treatment work and collaboration around grades 1–3 Does this sound like your next challenge?
