JOB RESPONSIBILITIES In the role of Recycling Center Attendant, you are the first person customers come into contact with at our recycling centers. An important part of the job is to inform about sorting and be available and helpful to our visitors. The assignment includes the following work tasks: • Greet our customers at the counter • Cleaning, snow removal, de-icing and keeping the recycling center in a welcoming condition. • Receive and sort hazardous waste, compact material and change containers with a loader. We, as a team within Waste Management, are responsible for collecting the municipality's municipal waste. Waste collection and sludge emptying from households is carried out by contracted entrepreneurs while the collection of bulky waste is carried out at the municipality's recycling centers operated in-house. The work takes place outdoors and the Recycling Centers have opening hours approximately 07.00-19.00 on weekdays and Saturdays (excluding holidays), which means varying working hours. QUALIFICATIONS We are looking for someone who has previously worked in a service-oriented profession and has experience with customer service. You have a strong interest in environmental and resource management as well as a valid B driving license. It is advantageous if you have training in waste and chemical handling or have a forklift operator certificate for goods handling. The Recycling Center is a face of Östhammar Municipality, which is why it is important that you are outgoing and informative in your customer interactions. You enjoy working in an event-driven day-to-day environment where we value your flexible approach. You are responsible, punctual and cooperative both in contact with customers and your colleagues.
