As a security guard at Avarn Security, you'll have an exciting day-to-day role where your task is to strengthen our customers' sense of security and promote a safer environment. A security guard plays a central role in maintaining safety and security in various settings. The job involves preventing and managing risks by monitoring premises, patrolling areas, and ensuring that security procedures are followed. Guards often work in close contact with people and need to act calmly and professionally in both everyday situations and during incidents. The work can include everything from alarm responses and access control to reporting deviations and cooperating with police or other authorities. The role demands high levels of responsibility, integrity, and the ability to make quick decisions under pressure. As a security guard, you are an important part of creating a safe environment for people and businesses. You work with preventive security measures, inspections, and service. Qualifications Beyond the personal qualities we're looking for and describe, you need to meet basic requirements to be qualified for the position: Upper secondary school diploma Good Swedish in speech and writing Driver's license category B You must be at least 18 years old by your employment start date. This requirement is based on the Swedish Work Environment Authority's regulations AFS 2023:2, chapter 8 and appendix 2, which restricts minors' ability to perform tasks within security and guarding activities. You must also be of unblemished character*, drug-free, have your finances in order, and be in good health and physical condition to be employed at Avarn Security. Security guard training is meritorious for these positions. Other advantageous qualifications include experience in the security industry, certain technical knowledge, additional language skills beyond Swedish and English, and previous experience working in public environments. If you have the right profile for Avarn and you advance in the process but don't already have the required training (VU1, VU2), we'll cover your training costs! Security guard training (VU1, 9 days) is conducted by BYA Bevakningsbranschens Yrkes- och Arbetsmiljönämnd. Participation in this training is a requirement for employment.
