Common Security Guard Tasks As a mobile security guard, you work to prevent risks and strengthen security for our customers. You drive within your assigned area and perform inspections such as verifying that alarms are activated, doors and windows are locked, electrical equipment is turned off, and that no unauthorized persons are present. Alarm responses are an important part of the job, where you quickly and professionally handle various types of incidents. Surveillance occurs both indoors and outdoors, often at night, and you work independently in shifts. For stationary security, you are stationed at the customer's location and tasks may vary – from reception work and patrols to monitoring security centers. Your presence and customer service skills are essential for creating safety and providing excellent service. Qualifications Beyond the personal qualities we seek and describe in the various assignments, you need to meet basic requirements to be qualified for the position: high school diploma or equivalent strong Swedish, both spoken and written good English, spoken Driver's license category B To be eligible for the position, you must be at least 18 years old on your employment start date. This requirement is based on the Swedish Work Environment Authority's regulations AFS 2023:2, chapter 8 and appendix 2, which restrict minors' ability to perform tasks within security and surveillance-related activities. You must also be of good character*, drug-free, have sound finances, and be in good health and physical condition to be employed at Avarn Security. Security guard training (VU1, VU2) is an advantage for these positions. Other valuable qualifications include experience in the security industry, certain technical knowledge, additional language skills beyond Swedish and English, and previous experience working in public environments. If you have the right profile for Avarn and you advance in the process but don't already have the required training (VU1, VU2), we will cover your training costs! Security guard training (VU1, 9 days) is conducted at BYA (Security Industry's Professional and Work Environment Board). Participation in this training is a requirement for employment.
