About the Role
As an automation engineer/programmer with us, you will have a key role in developing, optimizing, and ensuring the reliability of our control and monitoring systems. You work on a project basis together with project managers, electrical & instrumentation, mechanics, and the operations organization to ensure that our production facilities operate stably, efficiently, and in accordance with GMP requirements. Here you will have the opportunity to work both strategically and operatively—from design and development to commissioning and ongoing improvement work.
In the role, you will:
Program, configure, and maintain ABB 800xA and ABB AC450
Develop control logic, operator interfaces, sequences, and alarm handling
Participate in automation and investment projects from design phase to commissioning
Work on troubleshooting, incident management, and corrective actions in production environments
Contribute to development of internal standards and working methods
Support operations during changes, testing, FAT/SAT, and qualification
Participate in risk analyses, Design Reviews, and continuous improvement initiatives
You report to the Head of Technical Service and the position is located in Karlskoga.
Who Are You?
You have post-secondary technical education in automation, automated manufacturing, or an equivalent field, and experience with programming and systems work in ABB 800xA and ABB AC450. You have previously worked in process industry, chemical industry, or another regulated environment and thereby have good understanding of requirements, documentation, and quality-assured processes.
It is also advantageous if you have good understanding of DCS architectures, network topologies, and industrial communication protocols, as well as experience with Siemens S7, Rockwell systems, or SCADA platforms such as iFix or Ignition. Knowledge of GMP is advantageous.
As a person, you are analytical, thorough, and solution-oriented with the ability to work systematically in complex system environments. You enjoy collaborating across technical boundaries and like working closely with production to create long-term and reliable solutions.
For this role, you need to be fluent in Swedish, both spoken and written.
