The Food business area at AFRY is characterized by long industry experience and strong expertise in project management, process design, plant engineering, automation, and quality assurance. As one of AFRY's strategically selected segments, Food is an area we are particularly investing in globally. Our business idea is to both maintain and further develop our project business and our turnkey solutions. We are in a strong growth phase and continue to expand, both nationally and internationally. About the Role As an automation engineer with us in Gothenburg, you will work closely with experienced colleagues on assignments aimed at the food industry. Together, we help our customers develop, streamline, and optimize their operations. We work in project form, where each assignment is based on the customer's specific needs and conditions—making every project unique. Therefore, we would like to see that you are flexible, adaptable, and enjoy new challenges. Example of work tasks: PLC programming Systemization and technical solutions Quote preparation Electrical engineering Project management Commissioning Service and maintenance The work team consists of 14 people in various roles, with roughly half working primarily on PLC programming and half on electrical engineering. Most have extensive industry experience, and we have a strong culture of collaboration and knowledge sharing. There is much expertise to learn from here—and excellent opportunities for you to develop, from junior to a highly skilled automation engineer. Qualifications Who are you? We are looking for someone who has: Relevant education in automation and/or electrical engineering, or A strong interest in the field and, for example, works as an operations or maintenance technician and wants to develop further in automation. B-class driver's license Ability to read and understand electrical drawings We place great emphasis on personal qualities. You are curious, unpretentious, and social, with good collaboration skills and a clear desire to deliver high-quality work. You are flexible and open to meeting customers' varying needs. You have strong command of Swedish and English, both spoken and written. You are comfortable working in project form, have a positive attitude toward new challenges, and like to share your ideas and experiences. At the same time, you are self-driven, take responsibility, and work in a structured manner even on your own. Travel is part of the job, averaging 20–40 days per year, both within and outside Sweden. Meritorious: Knowledge of Siemens Classic and/or TIA Portal Work experience as an operations technician with PLC General programming experience or strong interest in programming Experience with electrical engineering tools such as ElProCAD, EPLAN, or equivalent Additional Information Why AFRY?
