In the role of Automation Engineer within the LCS (Large Caliber Systems) business area, you will hold a central position where you work on developing, improving, and future-proofing our automation solutions. About the Role As an Automation Engineer, you will be an important part of developing, maintaining, and optimizing our production in Karlskoga. You work closely with both production and technical teams in a role where you contribute to increased operational reliability, efficiency, and technical development. The role is varied and combines operational work, such as troubleshooting and installation, with more analytical improvement and development work on our automation solutions. You have many internal contacts and work closely with production, maintenance, and technical functions. The role requires strong organizational skills, problem-solving ability, and a robust safety mindset, where you ensure that work is carried out in accordance with applicable regulations and documentation is kept up to date. Examples of responsibilities and tasks: • Programming and development of PLC and HMI systems • Troubleshooting and performing root cause analyses • Installation and commissioning of machinery, motors, and sensors • Work with vision and machine learning systems • Ensuring documentation is up to date with changes • Risk assessment and work in accordance with machinery directives • Participation in CE marking of machinery Our Candidate We are looking for someone who is technically curious and solution-oriented, with a strong drive to improve and develop automated processes. You work in a structured and thorough manner, and have the ability to analyze problems and translate insights into sustainable solutions. You thrive in a role with many contacts and enjoy collaborating with different functions within the company. To succeed in this role, you have a couple of years of experience as an automation engineer, automation technician, or similar position within industry. You are experienced in PLC and HMI programming according to IEC 61131-3 and have a good ability to read and understand CAD-based electrical schematics. Furthermore, you have experience troubleshooting automated systems and an understanding of control systems. You communicate fluently in both Swedish and English, both verbally and in writing. The position requires Swedish citizenship, and a suitability assessment will be conducted as part of the recruitment process.
