Daugavpils State City Municipality institution "Social Service"
is seeking an
ADDICTION PREVENTION SPECIALIST.
Project Objective:
The project aims to provide children with behavioral and addiction problems, as well as their families, with individually tailored, comprehensive support based on collaboration between specialists from various fields. This enables families to receive necessary assistance in a timely and coordinated manner in one location.
Service delivery period from November 2026 to August 2029.
Key Responsibilities:
SA Service:
Provides support and consultations in accordance with the developed Support Plan, provides children with information about addiction mechanisms and strategies to overcome them, and clarifies the process of addiction development. Provides psychological and emotional support, motivates the discontinuation of addiction-promoting lifestyle, and promotes problem-solving in relationships with adults and/or peers.
After the consultation cycle, prepares recommendations for the child and the caregiver and submits them to the SA service social worker. Attends supervision sessions (1× per month), participates in team meetings (1× per month), and engages in knowledge improvement activities. Adheres to ethics, data protection, and confidentiality principles in work.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree (first-cycle higher education) in social sciences or human sciences.
- Professional Training Certificate in Addiction Prevention and Counseling.
- Experience over the previous three years performing active work in the addiction prevention specialist profession (minimum 12 months of cumulative work experience).
Project Implementation Location:
Daugavpils State City Municipality institution "Social Service" in cooperation with the foundation "Latvia's Children Support Fund" and the association "Resilience Center".
Compensation: 50 euro/consultation.
