Job Description Your AT begins with a joint introductory week, followed by inpatient placements that start with clinic-based introductions to each placement. Your placement is distributed between the central and western parts of the region. Professional development is provided through a comprehensive AT training program, regular clinic-based training, joint seminar days for all AT physicians in the region, and an education budget of 20,000 kronor. We also offer three valued AT specializations: Research AT, Pedagogical AT, and Psychiatry AT at both hospitals. Research AT Research AT allows physicians doing general practice (AT) to combine regular clinical general practice with up to 6 months of research at Linköping University (LiU). In addition to being qualified for general practice, active research activities at LiU is a prerequisite for obtaining Research AT. Pedagogical AT Within Pedagogical AT, the AT physician carries out their own improvement work and deepens their knowledge in patient education, student education, and educational leadership. Psychiatry AT Psychiatry AT offers the opportunity to specialize in psychiatry through, among other things, optional placements in child and adolescent psychiatry, adult psychiatry, and forensic psychiatry. Applications for this occur after AT has begun. For more information (HERE). About You You have a Swedish medical degree or approval from the National Board of Health and Welfare to complete AT. Language skills equivalent to Swedish C1. For foreign degrees, you must have completed Swedish society and legal knowledge. Experience from medical temporary positions, other relevant education, research, local ties, and/or other professional experience is meritorious. We're looking for someone with good self-insight. You need good judgment and the ability to make decisions. You're easy to work with, have strong leadership abilities, and a willingness to contribute to developing our operations together with us. Great weight will be placed on personal suitability. Information About the Recruitment Process We review incoming applications continuously and would like to receive your application as soon as possible. A complete application includes an attached CV and a copy of your medical degree or National Board of Health and Welfare approval (if your degree is from January 2027, the application will be completed upon a potential offer). Note that special documents should be attached for Pedagogical and Research AT; see the respective areas above. A certificate of passed Swedish C1 language proficiency should be attached if applicable. Also attach service certificates from previous employment and recommendation letters and/or references. Region Östergötland does not use personal letters in applications; instead, we ask you to answer the selection questions. The recruitment process occurs quickly during weeks 40 and 41. At the end of the application period, we will call you for an interview. Employment interviews are held September 29 – October 2 and October 5 – 7. Notice will be given at the end of week 41. At the interview, you must identify yourself with a passport, national ID, or driver's license + personal ID card. If you have citizenship outside the EU and thus hold a work permit in Sweden, you should also bring that to the interview. If employed as an AT physician, we will request an extract from the criminal record register. Region Östergötland applies a fixed starting salary for AT physicians, which is revised annually. Salary increases occur after 12 months of employment. Before employment in patient-facing work within Region Östergötland, you will be asked to complete a health declaration.
