We are now recruiting 24 AT physicians to Region Västmanland. By completing your general practice training with us, you will have the opportunity to grow with your own responsibility while receiving excellent support and a solid foundation for your future career. AT in Västmanland As an AT physician with us, you have an active role in daily operations where you quickly get involved in practical patient work while receiving good support from your experienced colleagues. We invest in education and you will have the opportunity to participate in themed days, training days, AT meetings, lectures, and an insurance medicine course. In addition, you will receive a course allowance that you can use for a course of your choice. During 5 optional weeks, you also have the chance to try out the clinics that have caught your interest. Your 18-month employment begins with an introduction week, after which you start either with the surgery or internal medicine block, followed by your placements in psychiatry and general medicine. AT in Region Västmanland means working at Västerås Hospital for 3 of your 4 placements and one placement in the county, which means commuting from Västerås. At the AT unit, which is your base, you can calmly administer, study, and exchange experiences with your AT physician colleagues. Any decision from the National Board of Health and Welfare must be attached to your application. Your application must be in Swedish. If you also have other relevant education in the field, this is a merit. You have experience working as a junior physician in Swedish healthcare and have good written reference letters/certificates from these junior physician positions that must be signed and preferably also stamped and written recently. It is important that you attach these letters/certificates as they form the basis for the selection. AT recruitment is a long-term investment and a foundation for our future recruitment of specialists. Therefore, it is a merit if you have local ties and a strong interest and commitment to Region Västmanland. Additional experiences we will consider in the selection are research, positions of trust, teaching assignments such as teaching assistant, tutor, or similar, and other experience in healthcare. We place great emphasis on personal qualities and competencies. We are looking for someone who works well with other people and relates to those around you in a responsive and flexible manner. You are calm in stressful situations and focus on the right things. You have good judgment and while you take initiative, you also know when you need to ask for help. Our goal is to build a competent and diverse AT physician group with various interests and specializations. Since you will need to be able to communicate verbally and in writing with patients, families, and colleagues, good knowledge of the Swedish language is required. Other language skills are a merit. Terms of Employment The general practice training at Region Västmanland is a fixed-term position for 18 months. Positions start in February and May 2027.
