Alingsås Hospital is part of Hospitals in the West, an administrative unit within the Västra Götaland Region. The hospital consists of operational areas including Medicine Clinic, Surgery and Orthopedic Clinic, Anesthesia and Intensive Care, Emergency Department and Ambulance Services, as well as departments for gynecology, pediatrics, and otolaryngology. Alingsås Hospital has approximately 700 employees and serves a catchment area of approximately 100,000 residents. We are looking for someone who wants to develop in the role of physician and enjoys working with challenges as well as providing clinical care to our patients. AT Residency Program We offer you the opportunity for mentoring and support from experienced colleagues to develop your clinical skills. With us, you will see many patients with a broad range of healthcare needs and participate independently and responsibly in the hospital's on-call activities. During your AT residency, a group study trip is also conducted. We are offering approximately 14 positions (blocks). With start dates on 2027-01-11, 2027-04-12, and 2027-05-31. The blocks are 18 months in duration and consist of 4.5 months in medicine, 4.5 months in surgery/orthopedics, 3 months in psychiatry, and 6 months in primary care. The psychiatry placement occurs either in inpatient care at SU in Gothenburg or at Rågården Forensic Psychiatric Clinic in Northeast Gothenburg. This may be subject to change. During your primary care placement, you will work with a complete primary care assignment under safe conditions and with good supervision. The primary care placement is made at one of 13 health centers in Herrljunga, Vårgårda, Alingsås, Lerum, and Partille. The assignment of a health center is made four months after starting the AT residency. Qualifications To begin AT residency, you must have completed your basic medical education and obtained your medical degree certificate or have authorization from the National Board of Health and Welfare to perform AT residency. We are looking for employees with good collaboration skills, who enjoy taking own initiatives, and who are comfortable with varied tasks. Great emphasis will be placed on personal suitability. It is advantageous if you have previous experience working in healthcare. It is particularly advantageous if you have worked as a junior physician within the Västra Götaland Region. Other Information The application deadline is September 16. Notification of interview will be provided no later than October 2. Interviews will be held on-site at Alingsås Hospital during week 41. We will also verify the degree certificate or authorization to perform AT residency with the National Board of Health and Welfare.
