We are seeking 2 new assistants to join our team supporting a man in his 30s.
Our client has autism, moderate intellectual disability, and epilepsy. Daily life is characterized by a calm pace where the client's condition on any given day guides activities.
The work involves a strong focus on the home environment and creating a safe, adapted living situation.
It's important that as an assistant you are comfortable spending entire work shifts within the home. Although the client has interests in vehicles, music, secondhand shopping, outings, and coffee breaks, he may choose to stay home and can decline suggested activities.
Your role is then to be present as an attentive support and respect his choices, while together you create a meaningful daily life—for example through movies, board games, iPad use, or quiet moments in the house.
As an assistant, you are the client's secure anchor in daily life. Your responsibilities include:
Personal Support: Assistance with personal care, daily routines, and household management.
Activities: Support with shopping, outings, and social situations.
Security and Communication: A central part of the work is being attentive to the client's well-being. During stress, anxiety, or when having difficulty expressing himself, the client may express strong frustration through intense emotional reactions.
Your role requires that you can remain calm, act as a stable role model, and guide him when the outside world becomes too overwhelming.
Who are you?
We are seeking someone who is stable, responsible, and has a pedagogical approach. You have genuine patience and the ability to create the structure the client needs to thrive.
Requirements for the position:
Driver's license and access to your own car (the residence is outside Visby).
Non-smoker.
Comfortable working varying hours.
Meriting factors:
Experience with low-arousal approach (LAB).
Knowledge of autism, intellectual disability, or epilepsy.
Previous experience with personal assistance or similar care work.

Practical Information
Work Hours: Shifts are scheduled as long shifts (08–21), split shifts (08–16 / 16–21), and night shifts (21–08). You can choose for yourself whether you want to work nights or not.
Start Date: Introduction begins as soon as possible by mutual agreement.
