About the Job
The Forestry Planning course (15 credits) is divided into three parts where the first and second focus on forest management planning and planning theory, and the third part on long-term forestry planning using the Heureka system. Your work will involve guiding students in preparation and compilation of forest management plans using the pcSKOG software and/or assisting students during exercises with Heureka StandVis and PlanVis. The work mainly consists of helping students learn to use the above-mentioned software in a pedagogical manner. You will learn a great deal yourself by mentoring others.
Your Background
We prefer that you are or have recently been a forestry student at SLU. You should have experience with the planning software pcSKOG and/or Heureka's software StandVis and PlanVis. It is an advantage to be proficient in both systems. We are looking for someone who is self-driven, takes responsibility for your work, and has good collaboration skills.
About Us
The Department of Forest Resource Management conducts education and research in the areas of forest remote sensing, forest inventory and sampling, forest planning, forest mathematical statistics, and landscape studies. The department is also responsible for implementing ongoing environmental analysis programs including the National Forest Survey, National Inventories of the Landscape in Sweden which includes inventories of coastlines, mountains, grasslands and deciduous forests as well as butterflies and bumblebees. Our activities combine research and environmental analysis in interdisciplinary projects, which provides unique opportunities to develop comprehensive concepts for sustainable use of natural resources. In total, we have approximately 120 employees and an additional approximately 90 seasonal employees during the summer half-year in our field inventories.

Employment Type
Hourly employment; specific fixed-term employment. This means you will be offered work during shorter periods during the period specified below under "Scope." You can accept or decline each job opportunity you are offered. When you accept one or more job opportunities, a new employment agreement is entered into for these occasions.
Scope
The employment covers approximately 30 hours during the period September to October 2026.
