Arla Foods Seeks Staff for the Laboratory in Vimmerby The Vimmerby milk powder facility is Arla's most modern milk powder plant and handles a large portion of Sweden's milk surplus. To produce one kilogram of milk powder, 8 to 10 kilograms of milk are needed. The milk comes primarily from Arla farms in the region. In Vimmerby, whole milk and skim milk powder in various qualities are produced, primarily for sale to other food manufacturers who make baked goods, baby food, dairy products, and more around the world. Permanent Position as Senior Laboratory Technician We want to expand our staffing at the laboratory in Vimmerby. The position is full-time with weekend work every seventh week. Main Responsibilities Your main tasks will be to perform microbiological, chemical/physical, and sensory analyses according to the facility's control program. You are responsible for reporting and compiling results in SAP and participate in our quality and improvement work at the facility. You will participate in setting up new and modifying existing analysis methods and establishing new control programs. Instrument maintenance and calibrations are an important part of the work where we currently primarily work with B3 and Lactoskop. We also work on adjusting laboratory operational procedures, where you will be an important resource. Everyone in the laboratory maintains close contact and collaborates with production staff regarding analysis results and calibrations. Education, Experience, and Personal Qualities Required: Appropriate background in microbiological, chemical, or technical university education, preferably combined with a strong interest in microbiology. Experience with laboratory work from the dairy and food industry is advantageous. You have good knowledge of Swedish and English, both spoken and written. It is an advantage if you can speak or understand Danish. As a person, you are positive, thorough, flexible, and initiative-driven. You work equally well in collaboration with others as independently and actively contribute to creating good relationships and a positive work environment.
