Together, your task is to provide quality of life. You see each individual and have the ability to understand what each person needs. In your role as an occupational therapist, you will find together with the residents the best ways to use their own abilities in everyday life. You support and motivate people to develop and maintain their mobility themselves. Often this involves you examining/assessing/treating the residents' movement problems and functional impairments. It also means you test and prescribe medical aids and devices. You also work preventively by educating other staff members about moving techniques to avoid strain injuries. Because of you, those who live with us can maintain their lifestyle and their habits. At the same time, you develop valuable knowledge about care, service, and aging. About Villa Salabacke In autumn 2017, the new elderly and dementia care facility Villa Salabacke (formerly Salabacke Plaza) opened in Uppsala with 72 apartments. We have fantastic facilities with outdoor terraces where you can see the castle, Carolina Redeviva, and the cathedral. There is a major focus on activities and all professional categories are involved in providing the residents with an exciting and pleasant everyday life. • Dementia Certification: We are a dementia-certified facility, which means that everyone who works here is trained in dementia and dementia care through Demensakademin. • Young Care (Ung Omsorg): We have a partnership with the company Ung Omsorg. This means that a team of young people aged 14–18 years visit us on weekends and holidays. Young Care does various activities together with us who work here to add a golden touch to the lives of our residents. You are a licensed occupational therapist and we would prefer that you have worked several years in elderly care. Good computer skills and experience with documentation are important.
