Rehabilitation medicine is part of the specialty medicine operations area and is located at Sandviken Hospital, serving patients from throughout Gävleborg County. Our patient groups include stroke, traumatic brain injury, spinal cord injury, as well as neurological diseases and individuals with chronic pain. Patients' activity capacity varies from complete dependence on assistance to needing support only with memory, problem-solving, structure, speech, and other areas that make it difficult to participate in daily life, family life, leisure activities, and community life. As an occupational therapist in the rehabilitation medicine department, you will be part of a team with multiple professional categories.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
We work in teams and apply a behavioral medicine approach, which means we consider how behaviors and lifestyle factors affect the body's disease state, its onset, and especially its progression. In connection with the department, we work in appropriate training facilities and adapted outdoor environments. Some training is also conducted out in the community.
As an occupational therapist with us, you will, among other things:
• assess the patient's activity capacity from both motor and cognitive perspectives
• conduct COPM Canadian Occupational Performance Measure together with the patient and then establish a rehabilitation plan with the rest of the team
• maintain contact and collaborate with patients, family members, other team members, and external partners such as primary care and municipal services.

QUALIFICATIONS

In the role of occupational therapist, you should:
• be a licensed occupational therapist.
We see it as an advantage if you have experience with and/or interest in rehabilitation and teamwork. It is also a merit for the position if you have training in AMPS, PRPP, wheelchair sitting, and the Bobath concept.
