About the Facility The Forensic Psychiatric Clinic in Säter (RPK) provides highly specialized care at regional and national levels. There are a total of 78 care beds across seven care units with experienced nurses and nursing assistants. The patient population primarily presents with psychotic disorders and neuropsychiatric disabilities, often combined with substance abuse/addiction. Treatment work is varied with the aim of creating conditions for patients' reintegration into society. The Treatment and Activity Follow-up Team works with long-term treatment contacts for patients sentenced to forensic psychiatric care. The team currently consists of a psychologist, social workers, rehabilitation assistants, addiction specialists, and a unit manager. The team works in close collaboration with physicians and ward staff, with the goal of building skills in patients for a sustainable and functioning life outside RPK. Treatment work is conducted both individually and in groups. The team is driven and collaboration-oriented; you will be introduced to the forensic psychiatric environment by open and supportive colleagues—several of us have relocated to the region for this work. This recruitment expands the team with an occupational therapy position. Responsibilities In your role as an occupational therapist, you work in assessment, treatment, and psychoeducational capacities. You meet with patients individually and in groups, and mentor team and ward staff based on patients' needs for physical adaptation and/or adapted interaction strategies. Meaningful activity and motivational work are fundamental, with the goal of a functioning daily life for the patient, both during and after their stay at RPK. Collaboration with entities such as the insurance office and municipalities is included, and there are opportunities to participate in other team members' treatment activities. Patient-facing work is largely relationship-building given that stays are typically long; needs and treatment possibilities vary over time. RPK Säter is currently in a development phase focusing on more active and evidence-based treatment work. Development efforts are underway to establish a more structured care process with expanded methodologies and refined quality monitoring. As an occupational therapist, you will have excellent opportunities for a driving role in this development process and in shaping the team's work according to the complex needs of the patient population. Opportunities also exist within Region Dalarna for clinic-based research. Qualifications Requirements: Licensed Occupational Therapist. Interest in quality work and process and methodology development. Interest in longer-term treatment and change processes. Willingness and drive for close teamwork. Fluency in Swedish, both spoken and written. Merits: Experience from Forensic Psychiatry or related 24/7 operations such as Psychiatric Inpatient Care, SIS, Group Homes/Treatment Homes, etc. (highly meritorious). Experience from organizations in development and/or startup phases (highly meritorious). Experience working with Neuropsychiatric Disabilities (e.g., TBA), substance abuse issues, and/or psychotic disorders. Driver's license (work-related travel may occur). Selection is ongoing and interviews are planned for weeks 30 and 31. Great weight is placed on personal suitability. An excerpt from the police's criminal record and suspicion register, drug testing, and a check with the Enforcement Authority are required prior to possible employment.
