JOB RESPONSIBILITIES As an occupational therapist, you work with the whole person and their physical and cognitive abilities. You also work with interventions to strengthen the person's independence and increase activity and participation in daily life. The occupational therapist's area of responsibility includes assessments of patients' activity and functional ability, training interventions at home, prescription and testing of assistive devices, environmental assessment, and issuing certificates for housing adaptations. You also work in health promotion and prevention to increase opportunities for an active life with good quality of life. You work closely with a physical therapist and rehabilitation assistant. The work includes informing, instructing, and guiding patients, care staff, and family members. The occupational therapist and physical therapist collaborate closely with other professionals such as home care staff, residential care staff, nurses, and benefit advisors in their geographic team. As an occupational therapist, you have many contacts with patients, staff, and family members, which requires that you have good communication skills, are attentive, and have an aptitude for creating and maintaining good relationships. Person-centeredness and participation are important values for us on the journey toward close care. You will be important in our continued work to develop municipal primary care together with colleagues and your manager. The position includes responsibility for patients both in supported housing and in ordinary housing. As an employee in the rehabilitation unit, you work daytime, Monday through Friday, and we have a flexible working hours agreement. You will be based at a centrally located office in Färjestaden. QUALIFICATIONS We are looking for you who are a licensed occupational therapist and want to work with rehabilitation in the patient's home environment. We welcome both applicants with extensive experience and those who are newly qualified. As a new employee with us, you will receive a mentor and the work group helps and supports each other. You are curious, enjoy problem-solving, and are comfortable working both flexibly with people from different professions and independently. You have good interpersonal skills and the ability to convey knowledge in a pedagogical manner based on where the individual is. Driver's license (Category B) is required. To become eligible for employment in social care in Mörbylånga municipality, the employer will ask applicants to provide an extract from the police criminal record register for residential care facilities.
