Kommunrehab in Mariestad is a unit within the elderly and care administration that consists of eight occupational therapists, eight physical therapists, and two rehabilitation assistants. Now it's time to expand our wonderful team, and we are looking for an occupational therapist who wants to work closely with people who need support in their daily lives. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES As an occupational therapist, you will be part of the rehabilitation team and be responsible for ADL assessments, assistive device prescriptions, and related interventions for elderly and people with disabilities, with a focus on supporting the individual's participation, independence, and recovery. The work is mainly conducted in the patient's home and in care and residential facilities, but also within social psychiatry and within LSS. The work also includes prescription and testing of technical assistive devices, activity training, certificate writing, and assistance with applications for home adaptations within home care and special housing. We also work with guidance and training for care staff. Together with a physical therapist, you will be assigned a responsibility area within the municipality. A large portion of the work is conducted through teamwork with other professions such as rehabilitation assistants, care staff, nurses, needs assessors, and unit managers. QUALIFICATIONS To be relevant for the position, you must be a licensed occupational therapist and preferably have work experience in the profession. Experience working in elderly care, LSS, social psychiatry, or with people with cognitive or mental disabilities is advantageous. We are looking for someone who is communicative and enjoys collaborating with colleagues and other people, both internally within the municipality and externally. Other personal qualities we value are perceptiveness, commitment, and good ability to plan and make independent decisions. We imagine that you want to develop in your professional role in work where you meet patients with varying diagnoses. A category B driver's license is a requirement for the position, while previous work experience in healthcare is advantageous.
