Description Kungälvs Municipality is growing and in line with this, the municipality is recruiting an employment law attorney to the Administrative Staff, at the Legal Affairs & Procurement unit. In addition to the Administrative Staff, the municipality's administration is divided into three sectors. We are a total of twelve employees at the unit, and in addition to providing legal support to the municipality's operations and companies, the unit is responsible for the municipality's procurement and purchasing organization. Job Responsibilities This is a newly created position and you will provide legal support particularly in employment law matters to the administration and to the political organization. Internal legal expertise is supplemented when necessary with contracted lawyers and legal professionals. In this position, you will also assist the Safety and Support sector in legal proceedings, primarily in cases in general court regarding custody transfers of foster-placed children. However, the focus of the position will be on providing employment law advice. In the position, you provide legal support to the municipality's administration and political bodies, review contracts and agreements, act as representative in legal proceedings, and assist in various types of negotiations, write service memoranda, respond to referrals with legal relevance, and more. Working at a municipality is very enjoyable and varied. You will work largely together with the municipality's managers and HR specialists, and you will assist them in quality-assuring information and assessments. This also includes providing advice on how employment law matters can and should be handled. You are not expected to take responsibility for handling HR matters independently, but you will assist and represent the municipality in dispute negotiations, both inside and outside court. You work independently and manage your cases under your own responsibility, while also being part of a legal team consisting of four lawyers and the unit manager. The legal team works collegially and there is room to discuss cases and legal questions with your legal colleagues. Qualifications We are looking for you who have a law degree and at least three years of experience in qualified work as a lawyer in a municipality, municipal company, government agency, law firm, or court. You are thorough, driven, and can communicate in Swedish in a correct, clear, and pedagogical manner, both verbally and in writing. You have integrity and enjoy collaborating with people with different competencies and experiences to achieve common goals. You thrive in the consultant role and in working in a politically governed organization. Work pace can periodically be high and the issues very varied. To be considered for the position, it is required that you have experience assisting with qualified legal support within the employment law area and that you have experience with dispute cases. It is meritorious if you also have experience working with social law and family law. Great weight will be placed on your personal qualities. Recruitment Process During weeks 28–30, the recruiting manager will be on vacation. Subsequently, any questions about the position will be answered from week 31 onwards. Interviews are planned to be held during weeks 35–36. At the interview, you will meet the recruiting manager and the HR manager.
