Based on the Work Environment Act, we develop regulations, inspect workplaces, and disseminate knowledge about occupational health and safety issues. Your new role As an occupational health and safety inspector, you inspect the work environment at various workplaces. Within given frameworks, you plan, conduct, and follow up inspections across many different types of operations. You communicate requirements based on occupational health and safety and working hours legislation and its associated regulations, and you report deficiencies found during inspections to the employer. The role involves exercising government authority. Among other things, you handle penalty fees, issue immediate prohibitions, and prepare cases for decisions. Documentation such as service notes, inspection notices, materials for penalty fees, and other decisions are part of the role. We also work to combat workplace crime in cooperation with other government agencies. Inspection work includes meeting and conducting conversations with leaders of large employers as well as small business owners, safety representatives, colleagues at other government agencies, trade union representatives, and employees. The focus of inspections varies over time based on risk analyses and priorities. You take responsibility for ensuring that your work contributes to the authority fulfilling its mission and achieving its goals. Very good knowledge of Swedish, both spoken and written. Good knowledge of English, spoken. Category B driver's license. At least five years of work experience, including at least two years of current experience in one of the areas below; Industry/Technology You have experience working in process industry, mining, or small-scale manufacturing where you have applied knowledge of directives and standards. You have, for example, worked as a mechanical engineer, inspection engineer, or process technician. Occupational Hygiene You have experience working with chemical substances/products, microbiological substances, and/or physical factors (for example, noise) and have knowledge of how they affect the work environment. You have, for example, been a chemist, biologist, occupational hygienist, occupational health engineer, or have worked with chemical/microbiological work environment risks. Logistics You have experience working in operations involving transport and logistics with a focus on logistics and coordination. You have, for example, been a site manager, logistician, or trainer. Government Authority You have experience exercising government authority at a supervisory or control authority. Your experience may come from another government agency or municipal environmental and health protection supervision. It is advantageous if you have: Current experience independently planning inspections or conducting and documenting tasks where you have communicated requirements, assessments, or decisions to decision-makers. Current experience leading a team with responsibility for guidance, methods, results, and documentation, for example as a project manager. You will thrive and succeed in this role if you are flexible, see opportunities in change, and have the ability to handle unexpected and complex situations. Your communication is clear, open, and direct even in difficult situations. You are solution-oriented, structured, and have a strong ability to plan and manage multiple tasks in parallel. You also find it easy to develop new relationships and are comfortable in social situations. You work well both independently and with others. You travel frequently during the work week. In the selection process, we will place great emphasis on your personal qualities. Employment with us may mean that the position is classified as a security position.
