About the Operations
Jobb Borås has approximately 40 Employment Counselors and four employment coordinators led by two unit managers. We serve individuals ages 18-64 who are unemployed and need extra support to enter education or work. Jobb Borås' activities include preparatory measures, work-oriented training, and employment positions. The goal of the activities is for the individual to become aware of their resources, enhance their skills, have the opportunity for work trials or internships, seek and obtain employment, or begin studies.

Work Tasks
As an Employment Counselor, you are responsible for a number of participants whom you meet individually and in groups. You lead group activities for individuals who initially have low work capacity and work through various measures to sustainably increase their work capacity and health. Together with participants, you create an individual implementation plan with the goal that they will move on to work preparation programs, work internships, studies, or employment.
An important part of your role is to collaborate with various internal and external partners, such as other departments within Borås City, the Swedish Public Employment Service, the Social Insurance Agency, the Västra Götaland Region, and the Swedish Prison and Probation Service.
Qualifications
You have a bachelor's degree in an area that the employer considers relevant for the position. It is beneficial if you have training in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy/Training, Motivational Interviewing, Supported Employment, or Supported Education. A valid driver's license is a requirement.
You have experience working with people who are to enter the open labor market. If you have worked with or collaborated with our partners the Social Insurance Agency, Västra Götaland Region, the Swedish Prison and Probation Service, the Swedish Public Employment Service, or complementary organizations, this is beneficial. We would appreciate it if you have experience working with individuals from criminal target groups, people with disabilities, or language-weak groups.
You have a genuine interest in supporting people and build trusting relationships while maintaining a professional approach. You are curious, take responsibility, and adapt easily to changed circumstances while remaining calm in challenging situations. We are looking for someone who thrives in a broad and dynamic role where you meet individuals with different needs. You are comfortable not always being a specialist but have the ability to seek out information, navigate between resources, and quickly acquire new knowledge. With a solution-focused approach, good communication skills, and a structured way of working, you are both attentive and action-oriented.
