The Employment Services Department (AMA) is part of the Education Administration and has approximately 80 employees. We work with labor market policy initiatives to prevent and reduce social exclusion and strengthen people's opportunities for self-sufficiency. Through work training, rehabilitation, education, assessments, and guidance, we offer support to people who, for various reasons, are excluded from the labor market.
The Government has announced a statutory activity requirement within subsistence support with planned implementation on July 1, 2026. AMA has been tasked with implementing the activity requirement, which means that people receiving subsistence support over a longer period must participate in meaningful employment to strengthen their opportunities to approach the labor market. As a result, the number of participants in AMA will increase during the fall.
Your New Job
We are starting a new practical operation with several different work tasks for our participants and are now seeking a work supervisor who wants to help prepare, build, follow up, and develop the operation. You will be an important part of our work to create a safe, developmental, and inclusive environment where participants are given the opportunity to develop their abilities and take the next step toward work or studies. As a work supervisor, you are responsible for daily planning and work supervision within our practical operations. The assignment involves planning, leading, and distributing work tasks as well as introducing, coaching, and motivating participants based on their individual circumstances. You actively work to create structure, participation, and a good work environment with a focus on safety and quality, while monitoring and documenting participants' development.
The role also involves contributing to the ongoing development of the operation by developing working methods and approaches as well as collaborating with both internal and external stakeholders. You are part of a work team and work closely with social workers, the Employment Agency, and other collaboration partners to create good conditions for each participant's development.
Your Qualifications
We are looking for you who have post-secondary education or other education that the employer deems equivalent. We would like you to have academic education in an area relevant to the assignment. You have experience coaching, mentoring, or supporting people in change and development. To succeed in the role, you need to be a trustworthy and pedagogical leader with the ability to create structure, build good relationships, and motivate others. Furthermore, you have good digital skills and experience documenting in operational systems, good knowledge of Swedish in speech and writing, and a Class B driver's license.
It is meritorious if you have education in leadership, social work, pedagogy, or another area that the employer deems relevant. Experience with labor market initiatives, municipal operations, or work with people far from the labor market is also meritorious, as is knowledge of motivational interviewing (MI), Supported Employment, or solution-focused approaches. We also view positively language skills beyond Swedish and experience meeting people with different cultural and linguistic backgrounds.
