Kretslopp Sydost is a municipal federation based in Kalmar responsible for waste collection and management for approximately 190,000 residents across eight member municipalities: Kalmar, Mörbylånga, Nybro, Oskarshamn, Sävsjö, Torsås, Uppvidinge, and Vetlanda. We are approximately 100 employees working together to create sustainable and efficient waste management for our member municipalities' residents. The Collection Department operates at three locations: Kalmar (Moskogen waste facility), Vetlanda (Flishults waste facility), and Oskarshamn (Storskogens waste facility) To meet future demands and ensure efficient operations, we are now seeking an engaged and well-organized Operations Manager for our newly built facility in Flishult. As Operations Manager for collection, you are the hub of daily operations. You are responsible for ensuring the business runs smoothly – from planning and scheduling to ensuring drivers have the right conditions to do a good job. You work closely with your staff, solve problems in real time, and ensure that collections and transports are carried out safely, efficiently, and on schedule. You will have approximately 16 employees to support you and you report to the Department Manager. Your main responsibilities Staff management for drivers in collection operations, including employee meetings, scheduling, and rehabilitation work Drive improvement initiatives around efficiency, safety, and work environment Plan and coordinate daily logistics and collection routes Ensure operations are conducted in accordance with applicable laws, regulations, and the federation's guidelines Handle deviations, disruptions, and acute operational situations Monitor and report key metrics for collection operations Collaborate with other departments and external partners We are looking for someone who has Experience in management or similar supervisory role, preferably in transport, logistics, or sanitation Strong ability to plan and prioritize in a fast-paced operation Natural leadership qualities – you build trust, clarity, and well-being in the team Ability to handle difficult situations professionally Experience with digital systems such as planning tools or transport management systems Good communication skills in Swedish, both spoken and written Category B driving license It is an advantage if you have Experience from transport, waste, or recycling industries Knowledge of workplace safety and transport legislation Category C driving license or experience as a professional driver Selection and interviews are ongoing, and the position may be filled before the final application deadline.
