The children and family sector in Central Inner City consists of five units: reception for children and youth, three investigation units, and foster care and family law. Our sector is led by a sector manager and the five unit managers. Within the sector, three mentors and a group leader for the reception unit also work. Read more about our benefits at Stockholm City here Read more about what it's like to be a manager in Stockholm City – Manager in the City Your Role As a unit manager, you have personnel, budget, and operational responsibility for the youth unit. The unit currently has nine social workers and one school coordinator for placed children. To support you in your work, you have the sector's mentors who, among other things, provide support close to the caseworkers, introduce new employees, and quality assure decision documentation, among other things. In the role, you work closely with the social workers on the unit to provide support and guide them in their daily work, which is often complex and challenging. You report to the sector manager for children and families and are part of the management group together with the four other unit managers and the sector manager. You have a strong interest in environmental monitoring and actively contribute to the joint work within the management group. Your Competence and Experience We are looking for you who is a confident, responsive, and clear leader. You have an easy time building trust and get people on board through dialogue, participation, and clear communication. You create understanding for shared goals, priorities, and expectations and take responsibility for both the business results and employees' work environment. Through your leadership, you create good conditions for active employee engagement. You have good judgment and the ability to make well-founded decisions even in complex and difficult situations. Formally, we are looking for you who have: a degree in social work multi-year and current management experience within the sector work experience from social services authority with children and youth as the target group very good knowledge of the laws, policy documents, and rules that govern social services very good ability to express yourself well in Swedish, both orally and in writing It is meritorious if you have: knowledge and experience of working based on Signs of Safety knowledge of EARL, ADAD, or other relevant knowledge supports for the sector experience with full managerial responsibility (budget, operations, and personnel responsibility) current experience with change management and systematic quality work. We will place great emphasis on personal suitability, engagement, and motivation for the position.
