Riga Children's, Youth and Family Social Support Center announces an open competition for a Caregiver position (profession code: 5322 02) (Structural unit "Imanta", Imantas 7. līnija 4, Riga) Riga Children's, Youth and Family Social Support Center is a Riga municipal institution that provides: short-term and long-term social care and social rehabilitation services for children and youth; crisis intervention services and social work with families with children and pregnant women; crisis center services with or without accommodation for children, youth, families with children and pregnant women; prevention in social work and psychosocial assistance for children and youth before and after the completion of out-of-home care until the age of 24; social rehabilitation programs for children and youth, families with children, and pregnant women. The position's purpose is to ensure care for children and youth appropriate to their age and health condition in an environment resembling family circumstances. To help care for the child and meet their needs, develop hygiene and cultural behavior skills, household management skills, and help plan and provide meaningful leisure activities. You will be responsible for: coordinating daily work with group staff members, overseeing activities in child care and room maintenance; following group staff instructions regarding child upbringing and development; changing children's bed linens and maintaining rooms according to requirements; assisting group staff in preparing and maintaining a safe and comfortable environment in the group; helping develop children's and youth understanding of a comfortable, clean environment, safe and healthy conditions at home; according to the child's age and abilities, promote skills in dressing and undressing, organizing clothing and belongings, and teach personal hygiene practices; according to the child's age and abilities, assist with toilet use, cutting nails, performing washing procedures, brushing teeth, and caring for hair. We expect: secondary professional or secondary education with an additional professional qualification certificate (in the care field); excellent knowledge of the state language, knowledge of one foreign language at communication level; skill to economically organize household management in the group and teach it to children; skill to develop hygiene habits in children and ability to help develop self-care skills; skill to organize leisure time for children and youth.
