Riga Children's, Youth and Family Social Support Center announces a competition for caregiver (occupation code: 5322 02) position applicants (Structural Unit "Ziemeļi", Sudrabu Edžus Street 11a, Riga) Riga Children's, Youth and Family Social Support Center is a Riga City Municipality institution that provides: short-term and long-term social care and social rehabilitation services for children and youth; crisis intervention services and social work with families with children and pregnant women; crisis center services with or without accommodation for children, youth, families with children and pregnant women; prevention in social work and psychosocial assistance for children and youth before and after foster care termination until age 24; social rehabilitation programs for children and youth, families with children, and pregnant women. The purpose of the position is to ensure care for children and youth appropriate to their age and health status in an environment resembling family conditions. To help care for children and meet their needs, develop hygiene and cultural behavior skills, household management skills, help plan and ensure meaningful leisure time activities. We will entrust you with: coordinating daily work with group staff and activities in child care and facility maintenance; following group staff instructions regarding child education and development; changing children's bed linens and cleaning facilities in accordance with requirements; helping group staff prepare and maintain a safe and comfortable environment in the group; helping children and youth develop an understanding of a comfortable, clean environment, safe and harmless conditions at home; according to the child's age and abilities, promoting skills in dressing and undressing, organizing clothing and belongings, teaching personal hygiene skills; according to the child's age and abilities, helping use the toilet, trimming nails, performing washing procedures, brushing teeth, caring for hair. We expect: secondary vocational or secondary education with an additional professional qualification certificate (in the care field); excellent knowledge of the state language, knowledge of one foreign language at communication level; skill in economically organizing group household management and teaching it to children; skill in developing hygiene habits in children and helping develop self-care skills; skill in organizing children's and youth's leisure time.
