a caregiver (profession code: 5322 02) position competition (fixed-term)

Riga Children's, Youth and Family Social Support Center is a Riga City Municipality institution that provides:
short-term and long-term social care and social rehabilitation services for children and youth;
crisis intervention services and social work with families with children, pregnant women;
crisis center services with or without accommodation for children, youth, families with children, and pregnant women;
prevention in social work and psychosocial support for children and youth before and after out-of-home care ends until age 24;
social rehabilitation programs for children and youth, families with children, pregnant women.
The position's purpose is to ensure care for children and youth appropriate to their age and health status in an environment resembling family conditions. Help care for children and meet their needs, develop hygiene and cultural behavior habits, household skills, help plan and provide meaningful leisure time.
We will entrust you with:
coordinating daily work with group staff members, activities in child care and space maintenance;
following group staff instructions regarding child upbringing and development;
changing children's bed linens and cleaning spaces according to requirements;
helping the group staff member prepare and maintain a safe and comfortable environment in the group;
helping develop in children and youth an understanding of a comfortable, clean environment, safe and non-hazardous conditions at home;
according to the child's age and abilities, promoting skills in dressing and undressing, arranging clothes and belongings, teaching personal hygiene skills;
according to the child's age and abilities, helping with toilet use, nail trimming, washing procedures, teeth brushing, hair care.
We expect:
medium professional or secondary education with an additionally obtained professional qualification certificate (in the care field);
excellent state language knowledge, one foreign language knowledge at communication level;
skill to economically organize household management in the group and teach it to children;
skill to develop hygiene habits in children and ability to help develop self-care skills;
skill to organize free time for children and youth.
